Julie Kent

Co-owner and Early Years Professional

Julie Kent has lived in the village of Aldbourne since 1987. Having co-managed and led the Pre-school for 25 years, Julie retired in July 2019 but continues to support and mentor the staff team. She holds a B.A. (Hons) degree in Early Years Education, PGCE in education studies and Early Years Professional Status. She is the settings designated lead in Safeguarding and has completed advanced training in Child Protection along with paediatric first aid. Julie has also completed research into how Role Play supports the development of children's language, critical thinking, emotional and social development. She has also conducted a further research project into Attachment in the early years. She visits Bath Spa university to give guest lectures on Ethical Leadership to students studying education and she is also a validator for the Bristol Standard Quality Improvement Framework which many schools and early years settings in Wiltshire use to evaluate their provision.  Julie has two grown up children and four grandchildren. She enjoys patchwork quilting and watercolour painting.  

Cleo Jerram

Manager

In 2012 whilst her youngest child was still at Preschool, Cleo joined the team. She gained her Level 3 qualification in 2013 and is currently studying for her Early Years degree.  Cleo is the SENCO lead at Preschool and has Paediatric First Aid training.  Cleo has 3 children who attend the local primary and secondary school where she also went to school.

Angela Goddard

Early Years Practitioner

Angela joined the Preschool Team in 2006.  In 2010 Angela completed her NVQ level 3 in Childcare and went on to study for her level 5 which she was awarded in 2014.  She also has paediatric first qualification.  Angela organises many of the activities and trips the children participate in.  She has two grown  up daughters and 4 grandchildren and lives locally in Aldbourne. She enjoys reading and trips to the Theatre.

Sam Welch

Early Years Practitioner 

Sam joined Aldbourne Preschool in 2011.  She has NVQ level 3 in Childcare and level 3 in Community Care. She also is a qualified in paediatric first aider and holds a Health and Hygine Certificate.  Sam leads our breakfast club team, is play leader at the Willows after school club, St Michaels School, Aldbourne and is head MDSA at the school. It is very reassuring for Preschool children starting school to see Sam every lunchtime.  Sam has lived in Aldbourne since 1989 and has one son.

Esme Woodward

Early Years Practitioner

Esme, joined Aldbourne Preschool in April 2013, previously worked at Sixpenny Daycare. She is  Health and Safety Lead.   She holds an NVQ Level 4 in Childcare and Education and has a paediatric first aid qualification and food hygiene qualification. She has one son and has lived locally all her life.

Rosy Emms

Early Years Practitioner

Rosy joined the Team in October 2022 and is currently studying for her level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner .  She has a paediatric first aid qualification and food hygiene qualification.  She has four children and lives locally.  Rosy loves cooking and creating imaginative craft with the children.

Caroline Kaneen

Administration and Finance Manager and Early Years Teacher

Caroline joined Aldbourne Preschool in the spring of 2018 as the Administrator. She has previously worked for a local children's Charity. She is a qualified Paediatric First Aider.  Caroline has recently completed her Early Years Teaching Training and a post graduate diploma in Early Years Education.  She has a Level 3 in Forest School Leadership.  She has two daughters, 19 and 16, who both attended the preschool and she loves being part of such a vibrant, innovative team.
