December 2018

The children and staff of Aldbourne Preschool enjoyed a day out on the Rose of Hungerford, Santa Cruise.  We set off from the square in Aldbourne on a Barnes Coach for Hungerford on a lovely crisp December morning to meet are vessel in Hungerford.  The rose of Hungerford runs along the Kennet and Avon Canal for summer trips and Santa Cruises.  The children were very excited as we set sail.  On a distance bridge Father Christmas waited to join us on board.  He chatted with every child and gave them an early Christmas present.  Drinks and biscuits, before a coach trip back to our waiting families.  Aldbourne Preschool would like to thank the Rose of Hungerford and Barnes Coaches for supporting this trip.

May 2018 - Bristol Standard
We are very happy to announce that we have been awarded the Bristol Standard!

"The Bristol Standard is recognised nationally as an outstanding self-evaluation framework and the benefits and impact of its approach have been well evidenced. Through team reflection and discussion, the strengths of the setting are celebrated and future priorities become clear. The Bristol Standard enables practitioners to talk more knowledgeably about what they do, why they do it and the difference it is making for children and families in their care. Settings who engage with the process are more likely to be judged as good or better." (Bristol Early Years)

It is a way of us ensuring that we are constantly providing the best childcare that we are able to.

On that note, have a lovely half term break and we will see you from the 4th June!

September 2015 - Inspectors say pre-school is 'exceptional'

Aldbourne Pre-school is top of the class after Ofsted inspectors rated it as outstanding in their latest report.  The education watchdog visited the "exceptional" provision for tots and toddlers based at St Michael's C of E School, in Back Lane, in April and awarded them top rating across all four areas.  Inspectors particularly praised focussed assessments, children's motivation and their confidence and independence.  Julie Kent, who won and manages the preschool in partnership with Annette Jerram, said the report was a testament to the hard work of the staff.   (report from Swindon Advertiser).
